Shoraya (Keur Pref Pres)
She comes from one of the most successful breeding dynasties in Europe, the Holsteiner family ‘Stamm 474a’, whose foundation mare, Pamina, was born in 1956. Shoraya is by the famous Irish thoroughbred, Ladykiller. Bought as a yearling from Germany, she went to Holland in 1977 and produced a string of champion offspring. Among them 3 full sisters to Aldato; Dhelia, Dutch conformation champion and international show jumper, dam of stallion, Quality Boy; Zancara, provincial conformation champion and reserve national conformation champion, dam of the stallions Great Pleasure and Montreal and Colette, dam of Zangersheide sire Edminton. Aldato’s half sister, Wildroos, by Ramiro Z, produced the approved stallion Nimrod B, the Dutch champion keur mare Lorenaroos and the international jumper San Patrignano Deka. Shoraya’s other daughter, Iris, is also the dam of an approved stallion, Norway.
Ladykiller’s influence in the creation of the modern show jumper is undisputed. Ladykiller, Aldato’s dam sire, has 38 approved sons including the famous Lord and Landgraf both founders of dynasties in their own right.
Holsteiner family ‘Stamm' 474A
This incredible line stemming from the mare Pamina has produced no less than 20 approved stallions worldwide and many international show jumpers.
Through two of Pamina's daughters, Etoile and Zamora, a pool of genes has been produced which reliably gives rise to horses of excellent temperament, conformation and jumping ability, with high heritability.
Members of this unique family, the famous Cavalier Royale, the Holsteiner Verband's current top stallion Calato, standing in Germany and Aldato, all share and pass on these traits, perpetuated through the line ‘stamm 474a'.
